Bill and his wife Karen farm at Nateby with their son Mark and his wife Alison. They milk the Myerside herd of 220 Pedigree Holsteins and rear their own youngstock. In addition to this they grow arable crops. Bill has been selling stock at Brock Auction for over thirty years and believes that farmers need to support their markets to keep them running for the future generations. Bill can be seen helping at the market in the calf section on Tuesdays.
David is a third generation farmer at Elswick and also Vice Chairman of the Auction Mart. Farming over 400 acres mainly grassland and arable and milking 320 cows and rearing youngstock. David regularly sells calves, store cattle and OTM cattle in the market.
Mark is a 4th generation farmer on a 250 acre farm in Dolphinholme. Mark currently has 32000 free range laying hens and a flock of sheep.
Mark also works for Massey Feeds and is married to Sooze and they have five children.
John runs a Dairy farm milking 100 cows with his son Richard at Myerscough. He has been a Director of the Auction since 1987. He is a strong supporter of the Auction regularly selling calves and store cattle at the market.
Richard is a Dairy farmer and milks 250 cows and also grows 450 acres of wheat and barley. Part of the business involves haulage and storage of feed. He farms at Towncroft Farm Claughton on Brock He took over his father’ s shares when he died in 1999,Richard then became a Director of the Auction and was made Company Secretary in 2003.
David lives at Mere Farm Westby and farms 900 acres of arable crops. He also finishes Beef Cattle and has 450 lambing sheep. He farms in partnership with his wife Karen and son Marshall.
John is a Dairy farmer milking just over 200 cows and also grows arable crops and has a contracting business in partnership with family at Claughton on Brock. He trades with the market on a regular basis selling cattle and calves. He has been a Director the Auction Market since 2000 and can be seen at the Market regularly on Tuesday and Wednesdays.
Tom farms in partnership with his wife Sheila and his son Thomas at Grange Farm, Freckleton. They have a large beef fattening unit and have store sheep as well as lambing 700 sheep. They also have 200 acres of arable crops.
Paul farms at Out Rawcliffe in partnership with his wife Pam, since moving there in 2000 from Inglewhite. He has 175 dairy cattle and 300 breeding sheep and rears store cattle. He has been a Director of the Auction since 2010 and is involved mainly in the sheep section. He can be seen regularly on Tuesday at the market.
Robert is a second generation farmer at Singleton together with his wife Sara and family. Milking the Carrdale Herd of 350 Cows and rearing his own youngstock. Robert also grows arable crops and runs a haulage business mainly transporting straw.
